Earth Day

We went to the local farm store and Dorian got to pick out a tree to plant to celebrate Earth Day.
He picked out a dwarf apple tree. We ran out between the rain and planted it.

Children's Museum

We went out to the Children's Museum on the 20th and had some fun.
They have "The Garage" there which is a room with a ton of recycled stuff, and then they have a theme each day. We went on a day when they were making bugs. Dorian made the one below all on his own.

Monday is baking day

A few weeks ago we made a calendar so 4 days out of the week we have a "theme".
It works out really nice!

Mon- Baking day
Tue- Library day
Wed- Science experiment
Thur- New animal day (learn about 1 new animal.)

Here are some photos of last Monday when we made a pumpkin pie, it is Dorian's favorite thing to bake as he loves pumpkin pie... and I means he loves it. He can eat the whole pie in 1 day all on his own. He must get this from Ash.

Easter activities

Here are some things we did during easter:

Decorated the window. We cut out eggs and colored or cut out shapes to put on them.

Birds

Dorian has started to really love reading, looking and talking about birds. So, we picked up some books from the library and a window bird feeder and now we are patiently (is that word in a 5 year olds vocabulary?) waiting for some birds to come eat some black sunflower seeds.
He sits at the front window with his book looking out for a new bird.


We made this sun catcher a few days ago melting crayons between wax paper.

Love Tree

We decorated Dorian's tree with some hearts and also made some other hearts to hang around the house.

Birds, dogs and writing.. Oh, my!

Dorian has been interested in watching and talking about the birds outside. We like to watch them out our window. This is the Blue Jay we have out our window that eats the cats food.
Dorian writes them letters on the post cards he got for xmas and puts them in trees for the birds to take to there homes. The other things are butterflies and bees.


This is Wyatt our dog on a skateboard with Dad's hat on.
And here is some more of his writing. He got a see and spell for xmas that he copies all the words off of.

Trip to OMSI

We went to OMSI on Friday with Kaitlyn the little girl we watch.
We had a great time!

Dorian made a beautiful macaroni collage. He spent about 30 mins gluing and placing the macaroni just the way he wanted them.
They played in the water area...

This is the face we get when we take photos. Its hard to get Dorian to look at the camera. So what we do is like a sneak attack. I get the camera out and I then tell Ash to say "Hey Dori!",
And then he looks and I quickly snap the photo!

Lovely little towns

I just love these drawings by Dorian. He really enjoys drawing this picture right now and has drawn it numerous times and I just love each and everyone of them.

Gingerbread Men

Here are two he decorated with his textures.
He is so great at details. Look at each dot and each bee... he is amazing.

Spiders

Dorian is really enjoying drawing spiders. He says the red ones are poisonous the other ones are friendly. As you can see he makes sure to give them each 8 eyes.
