Here is Dorian building away.

New friends

Here is a praying mantis we found outside on the swing.
Dorian enjoyed watching him, we have never seen one here at the house before.
We let him go "back to his family'' as Dorian says.
We also found a very pretty moth. Then we watched a squirrel run across the power line in front of our house. We get alot of them running past.

Dorian was being very quite in his playroom and this is what we found!!

Look at this!!!!! We already knew he is a genius. I would love to see inside his little brain!
He even got his camera and took a photos as you can see.

Learning

Here is our board with the day and also what Dorian wants to hang up that he has done.
That picture is from Tuesday when we talked about mum's and all the different jobs mum's do.
That is a picture of me with the cash register at the coffee shop, my arm is by the cash register and that building is the coffee shop!

Not back to school!!

I guess thats what homeschooler celebrate instead of the "back to school".
We did not take a summer break like some people, we just keep doing his Pre K and some Kinder learning throughout the summer. We will continue with the same Calvert curriculum, Dorian really likes it and is doing very well. And of course we will be taking alot of field trips to places around here.

Riiibbbiiittt.... riiiiibiiitttt...

I was taking the clothes off the line a few nights ago and look at what I found on a towel!
We have not seen a frog forever, we always hear them but never see them.
We brought it in for holding and then let it go back home. He played dead when we let him go and just sat there in "shock" I think from the patting from Dorian and us looking at him.
Finally after alittle nudge from Ash he went off into our pool.

Ladybugs

Dorian found a ladybug the other day swimming in our pool, he just loves ladybugs.
He talked to him for awhile, asked him about his travels and where he was headed to after the dip in the pool. He then put him back in his little potted plant he has outside that he puts all his bugs in to be a "family".

Shark boy

Today we had some nice weather. Dorian was up until 3am (he napped 1.5 hours in the arvo) so slept until 10am! haha..ummm is that funny?! Ash took him to the park to play and then when they got home we got to play in the pool again! Dorian was excited to play in it and we had alot of fun.

Note to self: Never let him nap!

Sometimes I wonder...

Here Dorian is lining up all toys on aluminum foil.. yes, aluminum foil.
This was a huge ordeal, lining them up and then wanting to tape the sides so he could carry the entire thing around (it was too big and the tape kept riping off the aluminum foil.) So it led to him having a melt down over not being able to do what was set in his mind. But, I thought it was something I wanted to keep in the memory bank.

One of Dorians favorite things to do..

He loves to line up things. Here are some photos of what he has done recently.
One of hand towels, he had to line them up before folding them and then some shells and rocks we got at the beach he lined up around the table. He has to have everything just perfect.

Farm

Here we all are together at one of our hot spots we like to go to.
We call it the "farm" but its a local produce stand with a cute lil farm with a few animals.

OMSI

Here are some photos of OMSI. Ash and Dorian went there and had a great time.
Dorians favorite thing there is to put his hands in the gloves and play in the swampy thing (its a big tank with gloves built into the sides....there is water down the bottom with plastic creatures u have to find in the water with your hands) and also he loves the dome where you can see all the fish. He also loves doing the balls there, you can build things and then you turn on the air and it shoots them out.

Things that make sound.

Here is a work sheet Dorian did. He had to draw a line under things that make a "sound".
He also colored a few things he liked.

Dorian's new easel

We just got this easel of good old craigslist for $10! I love craigslist.
He loves drawing and painting so I have been keep my eyes open for a nice wood one.
Dorian has really enjoyed it so far, we need to get him some more wipe board pens.
He loves drawing stuff and being able to wipe it off. The other side is a chalk board and it also has a paper roll and that can be used for drawing or painting. I am sure it will get lots of use!

Future herpetologist?

Dorian and Ashar were outside the other day and Dorian said "whats that dad?" and Ash just thought it was grass, but then looked closer and it was a gardner snake! They picked him up and kept him as a "pet" until I got home from the coffee shop to show me. Then we let him go back to his family. Dorian was so excited to hold it and pat it, I think Ash was just as excited though!

Coloring

Dorian loves to color. He does not like crayons but loves markers.
Here are some power rangers he colored and also a butterfly.
As you can see he loves using all different colors and is a perfectionist when it comes to coloring.
He also loves to stack these beads. The cat loves to knock them down and play with them as you can see we only have 1 yellow bead left.

Reading

Dorian and Kait like to play in the cot together. I found them being so sweet with each other reading books and then they saw me and my trusty camera and starting hiding under the books!

Meoooowwww

Ashar took Dorian to the Children's Museum last week and Dorian came back as a cat!
Dorian said he had lots of fun and that he liked playing in the ambulance and playing in the grocery store they have at the Children's Museum. Here are some photos of him as a kitty and also Aussie and Dorian resting on the couch together.
